Borage oil is a nutritional oil composed of 60 % polyunsaturated fatty acids and an average gamma-linoleic acid (GLA) content about twice that of borage oil. evening primrose. GLA is an essential fatty acid that the body is able to produce from dietary linoleic acid. However, it can be used more effectively for bodily functions when supplied directly from food sources. Research has determined that borage oil does not contain harmful levels of pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs). NOW® Borage Oil is extracted by mechanical pressure and hexane-free.
